Netzfactor GmbH, located in Bochum, Germany, was founded in 2003 by Jörg Muschiol. Core competency of the small company is the development of complex software solutions. Netzfactor covers the whole development process from requirements engineering, over conception, design, and programming to deployment, support, and training.

One focus is the development of information and communication platforms based on internet technologies. Competencies encompass the creation of server-based web services, databases, and web portals with much know how in browser technologies. Development for mobile devices and especially the creation of apps for the two major platforms Android and iOS are other expertise.

Special interest lies in the field of usability and user experience to develop user-centered interfaces for different user groups with the aim of supporting individual needs in an ideal way. This includes aspects like visualization and multi-modal information brokering.

Another important part of the company’s portfolio is the design, conception, and administration of IT infrastructure for company networks, internet services, and cloud computing.

Netzfactor has been and is currently engaged in research projects to keep in touch with latest technological trends and to integrate or adapt this knowledge for future projects. Recent research projects are Compagno, which focused on mobility solutions for elderly people, Kom- MIT, which concentrated on IoT and AI4A with a strong emphasis for a multi-modal experience and information system for different user groups.

With a team of nearly 20 professionals netzfactor has gained significant experience over the last 15 years in many industrial and research projects.
